Account Registration

Thank you for your interest in registering for CoachesNotes, a free service for coaches to post school information. Please note that you must be at least 18 years old to register for a CoachesNotes account.

Before you begin, please read the CoachesNotes Content Guidelines and Terms of Service below. By completing the registration form, you are agreeing to abide by these provisions. Please note that your Internet Session ID () can be traced back to your specific Internet account.

Content Guidelines and Terms of Service

CoachesNotes provides coaches with an easy-to-use no-cost tool that gives them the ability to communicate school information on the World Wide Web for access by their community of parents and students. This service is available for educational use only.

The following guidelines are issued for any coach or school organization wishing to become a member of CoachesNotes. EdGate appreciates your interest in and support of CoachesNotes and we pledge to you our continued support in building and maintaining a valuable resource which helps improve education by linking coaches, parents, and students together.

Page Content Guidelines
 
EdGate has developed the following content guidelines for CoachesNotes in order to promote the exchange of school information and at the same time maintain standards consistent with the Internet community and the societies of the world at large. If you have any questions regarding these guidelines, please contact us via the help form.

EdGate does not discriminate based on sex, age, gender, sexual orientation, gender orientation, ethnicity, culture, religion or socio-economic status.

EdGate is not responsible for the content of any CoachesNotes Page. The opinions and views expressed in the CoachesNotes Pages do not reflect those of EdGate. The contents of a page are not reviewed in any way before they appear in CoachesNotes.

EdGate reserves the right to remove any page from the system which is brought to our attention and which we find, in our sole discretion, violates these page content guidelines, or otherwise is in violation of the law. EdGate does not actively monitor the content of CoachesNotes Pages, but will investigate complaints of violation of these guidelines. Please submit any such complaints using our help form. EdGate is also not responsible for any loss of data resulting from our deletion of CoachesNotes Pages, network or system outages, file corruption or any other reasons.

Please refrain from using your free CoachesNotes Page for the following activities:

- Displaying material containing nudity or pornographic material of any kind;

- Providing material that is grossly offensive to the online community, including blatant expressions of bigotry, prejudice, racism, hatred, or profanity;

- Promoting or providing instructional information about illegal activities, or promoting physical harm or injury against any group or individual;

- Linking to any internet site that is inappropirate for educational use, contains nudity, pornographic material, or any other material that is grossly offensive to the online community;

- Defaming any person or group;

- Using your CoachesNotes page for commercial purposes;

- Displaying material that exploits children under 18 years of age;

- Using your page for acts of copyright, trademark, patent, trade secret or other intellectual property infringement;

- Violating Internet standards for the purpose of promoting your CoachesNotes page;

EDGATE TERMS OF SERVICE

This site is owned and operated by EdGate, and contains material which is derived in whole or in part from EdGate and other sources, and is protected by international copyright, trademark and other intellectual property laws. 1. Sub-license to third parties the unrestricted right to exercise any of the foregoing rights granted with respect to the communication.

You specifically acknowledge and agree that EdGate, is not liable for any defamatory, offensive, or illegal conduct of any user. If you are dissatisfied with any EdGate, material, or with any of EdGate.com's terms and conditions, your sole and exclusive remedy is to discontinue using EdGate,.

TERMINATION
 
This agreement is effective until terminated by EdGate, at any time without notice. In the event of termination, you are no longer authorized to access the bulletin boards and the restrictions imposed on you with respect to material downloaded from the bulletin boards. The disclaimers and limitations of liabilities set forth in this agreement shall survive.

OTHER
This agreement constitutes the entire agreement between EdGate, and you with respect to the subject matter contained in this agreement and supersedes all previous and contemporaneous agreements, proposals, and communications, written or oral. This agreement shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of Illinois without giving effect to any principles or conflicts of law. If any provision of this agreement shall be unlawful, void, or for any reason unenforceable, then that provision shall be deemed severable from this agreement and shall not affect the validity and enforceability of any remaining provisions.

Members are solely responsible for everything contained in their own CoachesNotes Pages. EdGate does not verify, endorse or otherwise vouch for the contents of any CoachesNotes Page. Members can be held legally liable for the contents of their CoachesNotes Pages, and may be held legally accountable if their CoachesNotes Pages include, for example, material protected by copyright, trademark, patent or trade secret law without the permission of the author or owner or defamatory comments.

In the event that EdGate receives a complaint that the contents of a Member Page infringe intellectual property rights or otherwise is unlawful, EdGate shall request written substantiation of the complaint from the complaining party, for example, substantiation of proof of ownership in the form of a trademark, service mark, patent or copyright registration and will take such steps that it believes to be appropriate under the circumstances, including, for example:

> Suspend the Member Page, or a portion of the Page, immediately until the dispute is resolved; 
> Provide the member with contact information for the complaining party; 
> Instruct the member to contact the complaining party to resolve the dispute; 
> Inform the complaining party of our actions and ask that party to work directly with the member;
Note: All correspondence between the parties must also be sent to EdGate. 
> Take the following action based on the progress of the dispute: 
If the member has not pursued resolution within 14 days of notification, the CoachesNotes Page, or portions of the CoachesNotes Page, will be deleted; 
If complaining party has not pursued resolution within 14 days of member's response, the CoachesNotes Page, or portions of the CoachesNotes Page, will be re-activated; 
If legal action is pending or the dispute is not settled, the CoachesNotes Page, or portions of the CoachesNotes Page, may remain suspended until resolution is reached and EdGate is notified by both parties as to the outcome; 
If a resolution is reached between the parties, the CoachesNotes Page, or portions of the CoachesNotes Page, will be reactivated with any mutually agreed upon modifications.

EdGate also reserves the following rights:

> To release current or past member information in the event EdGate believes that accounts are in violation of the terms of service or page content guidelines, used to commit unlawful acts, if the information is subpoenaed and/or if EdGate deems it necessary and/or appropriate; 
> To deny membership to offenders of these guidelines or terms of service; 
> To amend or change these guidelines at any time and without notice;

A possibility exists that CoachesNotes could include inaccuracies or errors. Additionally, a possibility exists that unauthorized additions, deletions and alterations could be made by third parties to the Site. Although EdGate tries to ensure the integrity and the accurateness of CoachesNotes, it makes no guarantees as to the correctness or accuracy of the Site. In the event that such an inaccuracy arises, please inform EdGate so that it can be corrected.

Any use of CoachesNotes outside of its intended purpose will not be tolerated. EdGate will cooperate with local authorities in prosecuting users who post inappropriate material.
